Yorkshire dining delights

Foodies will delight in the choice of places to eat out during your stay in Yorkshire. We have put together some recommendations, which range from tearooms to call in to during a walk or cycle ride from the cottages, and those slightly further afield that are a real treat on days out. Evening options are covered too, with suggestions of places to book nearby in Gargrave, Broughton, Elslack, West Marton, Coniston Cold and Skipton.

Why not spend a day in the Dales discovering different Yorkshire specialities to really gain a "taste of Yorkshire"? This map guides you to some of the best food and drink the region has to offer. New discoveries are all part of being on holiday, taking the time to sample delicious food.

In Yorkshire you will often see a slice of fruit cake on the menu, served with an accompaniment of cheese; absolutely delicious. Sunday Roasts are complete with Yorkshire Puddings and local bakeries such as Walker's in Skipton, serve up mouth-watering Yorkshire Curd Tarts.

Visit in the autumn during the Annual Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival – dates for this year are detailed on our events page. Over a long weekend you can join in with food tastings, demonstrations and special events that showcase regional specialities.

With nearby farm shops in Airton and Skipton selling local produce, whether you're dining out or dining in during your cottage holiday, there is no need to miss out on Yorkshire's culinary offer.
