Turnbers is a two-bedroom holiday cottage for four near Skipton. A popular cottage for couples, families and friends looking for a stay in the gentle Yorkshire Dales.
Turnbers has a beautifully appointed and well-equipped kitchen and a cheerful living room that leads on to a south-facing patio, equipped with comfortable outdoor wooden furniture and cushions. The cottage has two bedrooms and two shower rooms set across two floors. Both bedrooms are dressed with crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen and fluffy towels, inviting a good night's sleep.
The twin bedroom is on the ground floor and a little further along the corridor is a modern shower room. Wooden stairs lead upstairs to a spacious ensuite king size double room, which enjoys extensive views over the surrounding Yorkshire countryside.
Outside the cottage is an extensive patio overlooking green pastures where our sheep flock graze. This is a gorgeous place to sit and relax, away from the busyness of modern life. The cottage has a south-facing aspect and benefits from the daytime sun.
Parking is provided in our visitor car park. There is provision for unloading close to the cottage.
Turnbers is a popular cottage for both couples and friends. It sits adjacent to Mickleber Cottage along the patio and works well for group stays requiring accommodation in more than one cottage.

No – unfortunately Turnbers does not take pets.
We do have one dog-friendly cottage, which is called the Hermitage. It can accommodate up to 2 guests and up to 2 dogs.
At the moment we do not have provision on site to charge your electric vehicle.
Our nearest EV charging point can be found in North Street car park in Gargrave village, 2 miles away from our holiday cottages in Bank Newton.
There are also a number of EV charging points locally in the town of Skipton, which are located in Bridge Street car park and the High Street car park, as well as in Tesco Supermarket car park.
The closest grocery provisions to the cottage can be found in the village of Gargrave, 2 miles from the cottages. There is a well-stocked Co-operative on the High Street, with extended opening hours 7 days a week. There is also a Butchers Shop in the village.
Skipton is 6 miles away and has a Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi supermarket. There is also an Aldi in Barnoldswick, just under 7 miles away.
Farm shops can be found in Skipton (Robertshaw's Farm Shop) and Airton (Town End Farm Shop).
You are more than welcome to order a grocery delivery to your cottage. Most of the major supermarkets and providers have delivered to our cottages before. We simply ask that you arrange for the delivery to arrive after you do. Please also specify the name of the cottage you are staying in, on the delivery notes.
There is a laundry room which all guests are welcome to use. It is located in a separate building called the ‘Wash House'. There are three washing machines, a tumble dryer, internal drying line, washing baskets and a peg basket. Outside there is a whirligig washing line, located next to the rear patio to the cottages, which guests are welcome to use. The cottages are all equipped internally with an airing rack aswell.
Use of the laundry facilities is complimentary and included within the price of the cottage. This does not include a supply of washing powder or tablets; guests are asked to bring their own according to their own personal preference and to suit any allergy requirements.
Our usual changeover days are Friday and Monday. We generally offer weekend stays from Friday until Monday, mid-week short breaks Monday-Friday, and weekly stays beginning on Fridays. We are also sometimes able to offer weekly cottage stays beginning on a Saturday.
We are sometimes asked by guests if they can stay for one night. The answer is – yes, absolutely – but the price will be based on our minimum price for a stay in the cottage, which is based on a 2 - 3 night stay. Given this, we would recommend booking in for the 2 nights (as the cost will the same as for 1 night), and then you will benefit either from early check-in on the arrival day or late check-out on the departure day, if you wish.
Online availability to our cottages can be found here. Please contact us if you would like a bespoke quotation for a stay of a different length to our standard offer.
The cottages are available from 4pm on the arrival day.
Guests are very welcome to contact us on the day before their arrival day to find out whether earlier check-in times can be accommodated or not.
On the day of departure guests are requested to vacate the cottages promptly by 10am.
Turnbers can sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, and 1 infant in a travel cot.
Bedroom 1 is on the first floor and has a king size bed and ensuite shower room. It is accessed via a wooden staircase.
Bedroom 2 is a twin bedroom on the ground floor and has 2 single beds. The cottage has a ground floor shower room.

We love the cottage, the surroundings, the amazing view from Banks Hill, the canal and there's so much to do in the Dales. Thank you.
We enjoyed the location – the peace and quiet, the nearby cycle paths, and the villages and towns. A very well appointed and extremely comfortable and homely cottage.
Comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting. Lambs outside the front door were a bonus!
