Hulber is a two-bedroom holiday cottage for four near Skipton. Hulber is perfect for families, couples and friends looking to stay in the Yorkshire Dales.
The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, and the living room has large comfortable sofas and French windows on to a spacious patio which catches the late afternoon and evening sun.
The wooden stairs to the first floor lead up to two bedrooms – a double and a twin – both dressed with crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen and fluffy towels. There is a delightful view from the double bedroom window to the little bridge over the Leeds Liverpool Canal and farmland beyond.
Along the landing is the house bathroom. There is a second WC on the ground floor, just off the kitchen.
Outside the cottage is an extensive patio that is surrounded by green fields where our sheep flock graze. In spring the bankings are adorned with flowers and daffodils. This is a tranquil place to sit and relax, away from the busy demands of everyday life. Comfortable wooden chairs with cushions and a table are provided on the patio.
Parking for Hulber is in our visitor car park. There is also provision for unloading close to the cottage.
Hulber has the largest living room and kitchen of all our holiday cottages. It is popular with guests who enjoy walking and are looking for a peaceful stay in the Yorkshire countryside with excellent walks from the doorstep. No – unfortunately Hulber does not take pets.
We do have one dog-friendly cottage, which is called the Hermitage. It can accommodate up to 2 guests and up to 2 dogs.
At the moment we do not have provision on site to charge your electric vehicle.
Our nearest EV charging point can be found in North Street car park in Gargrave village, 2 miles away from our holiday cottages in Bank Newton.
There are also a number of EV charging points locally in the town of Skipton, which are located in Bridge Street car park and the High Street car park, as well as in Tesco Supermarket car park.
The closest grocery provisions to the cottage can be found in the village of Gargrave, 2 miles from the cottages. There is a well-stocked Co-operative on the High Street, with extended opening hours 7 days a week. There is also a Butchers Shop in the village.
Skipton is 6 miles away and has a Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi supermarket. There is also an Aldi in Barnoldswick, just under 7 miles away.
Farm shops can be found in Skipton (Robertshaw's Farm Shop) and Airton (Town End Farm Shop).
You are more than welcome to order a grocery delivery to your cottage. Most of the major supermarkets and providers have delivered to our cottages before. We simply ask that you arrange for the delivery to arrive after you do. Please also specify the name of the cottage you are staying in, on the delivery notes.
There is a laundry room which all guests are welcome to use. It is located in a separate building called the ‘Wash House'. There are three washing machines, a tumble dryer, internal drying line, washing baskets and a peg basket. Outside there is a whirligig washing line, located next to the rear patio to the cottages, which guests are welcome to use. The cottages are all equipped internally with an airing rack aswell.
Use of the laundry facilities is complimentary and included within the price of the cottage. This does not include a supply of washing powder or tablets; guests are asked to bring their own according to their own personal preference and to suit any allergy requirements.
Our usual changeover days are Friday and Monday. We generally offer weekend stays from Friday until Monday, mid-week short breaks Monday-Friday, and weekly stays beginning on Fridays. We are also sometimes able to offer weekly cottage stays beginning on a Saturday.
We are sometimes asked by guests if they can stay for one night. The answer is – yes, absolutely – but the price will be based on our minimum price for a stay in the cottage, which is based on a 2 - 3 night stay. Given this, we would recommend booking in for the 2 nights (as the cost will the same as for 1 night), and then you will benefit either from early check-in on the arrival day or late check-out on the departure day, if you wish.
Online availability to our cottages can be found here. Please contact us if you would like a bespoke quotation for a stay of a different length to our standard offer.
The cottages are available from 4pm on the arrival day.
Guests are very welcome to contact us on the day before their arrival day to find out whether earlier check-in times can be accommodated or not.
On the day of departure guests are requested to vacate the cottages promptly by 10am.
Hulber can sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms, and 1 infant in a travel cot. The cottage is set across two floors with its two bedrooms on the first floor.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed. Bedroom 2 is a twin bedroom with two single beds.
Guests are not permitted to exceed the maximum occupancy numbers per cottage or bring additional mattresses or blow-up beds to accommodate additional people.
We've just arrived home after a lovely few days in Hulber Cottage. We have had such a peaceful few days, relaxing in the comfy cottage, with the beautiful scenery. We loved sitting out in the evenings, watching the bats, listening to sheep and oystercatchers flying over.
A huge bonus for us was being able to walk from the cottage. I usually look specifically for this, so having the canal and other walks was perfect. We were so pleased to watch a barn owl on a couple of evening walks.
This was our first visit to the Dales, I find it hard to believe we have missed such a stunning place.
Thanks for a lovely week at Hulber. As ever, we had a great time and look forward to booking again later in the year.
Whether you're planning a family trip, a walking weekend in Yorkshire with friends, or just a quiet escape, we have the perfect accommodation for you.

This south-facing cottage also has two bedrooms. It has a ground floor twin bedroom and shower room and a first floor king size bedroom with ensuite shower. The living room and kitchen are more compact than Hulber but enjoy the daytime sun. Turnbers is ideal for couples, a small family or friends.
This first floor cottage sits next door to Hulber. It enjoys fine views from every room and plentiful natural light in to the open-plan living room. A good choice for guests requiring three spacious and versatile bedrooms, Nuttleber is well-suited to groups of friends or family.
