First class train travel with afternoon tea
The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway start their Tuesday Afternoon Tea experience this month and what a way to spend an afternoon.

Board the train at Bolton Abbey Station, less than twenty minute drive from our lovely cottages at Newton Grange Farm. Your first class reserved seats are located in one of the lovingly restored carriages and you’ll travel through the spectacular Yorkshire Dales. Each carriage has embroidered table clothes and relaxing head rests so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.
You’ll be dining on a selection of sandwiches complete with salad garnish – ham, tuna, cheese savoury and egg mayonnaise (vegetarian options are available). Complementing your sandwiches will be a sausage roll or mini quiche. The afternoon tea is then topped off with a home-made scone served with strawberry jam and clotted cream, a mini trifle and cake selection. Freshly ground coffee and Yorkshire Tea are served with refills available on your return journey.

The First Class Afternoon Train experience lasts an hour and departs Bolton Abbey at 14.45pm. Running on Tuesdays, advance booking is essential and, the experience costs £74.20 for two people, £111.30 for three and £148.40 for four making it a great way to celebrate with friends or family.
