There are lots of guided walks to be enjoyed, and travel along the wonderful Settle Carlisle heritage railway line too.
What are the best bits?
- All walks are free of charge – amazing.
- They start and finish at a railway station so you can combine the Settle-Carlisle railway with your day out.
- Walking routes are circular, with some linear options too.
- The company – a great opportunity to walk with others, and takes the thinking out of planning your own walking routes so you can relax and enjoy the scenery and company and time out in the Yorkshire Dales.
We have self-catering cottages available here at Newton Grange Farm in Bank Newton during the festival. We are 2 miles from Gargrave train station where you can connect in to the railway line, and just a 10 minute drive to Hellifield railway station. Alternatively, we are a 20+ minute drive time to the Settle area to join the walks. You can find out more about our location here.
Stay for a couple of nights, or the whole time.
Our largest two cottages (Mickleber and Nuttleber) are especially suitable for groups of friends staying – with each having three twin rooms (or indeed, Super king luxury).

Both cottages have three bedrooms and sleep six – so groups of twelve can stay easily across the two cottages.
All the bedrooms are dressed with Egyptian cotton bed linen and cosy throws, for a good night’s sleep.
We work hard to keep our housekeeping standards “tip-top” – looking after the cottages as our own. So when you arrive, you can settle in and unwind and make the most of your time away.
They are a brilliant choice for walking groups – coming to stay during the festival – or for cycling groups or groups of friends looking for a place to stay with no greater objective than catching up.
